Meeting Called to Order at: 19:00

tonight we were notified of the sudden passing of Matt Larabee from Lebanon Valley Fire

General Meeting Reports

• Treasurers Report: No Report
• Fire Advisory Board Report: None
• Town Supervisor Report: Chuck Peters said he is easing into his new job thanking us for what we do.
• Schodack Cause and Origin Report: No report
• Rensselaer County Report: OFPC CLASS’s limited 20 people, COVID still a thing PPE is available but please use your vender’s first then send request to Lisa. Increase in violence please be aware of scene safety. New Emergency Preparedness Planner Mr. Rockwell settling into his position. Inventory sheets going good there will be a spread sheet for county wide soon. Tower is moving along with possible spring opening. Our end of the county doing great on fire reporting. County waiting on arrival of 50 new radios, Hazmat Books available, service and pre-maintenance now on department’s there are 3 trainers for radio classes contact Paul.

• Radio Committee Report: Patch is complete to Albany County we will go to tac 8 to communicate. Command will establish the contact, all other units remain on talk group.

Old Business:
• Field Inventory Sheets for Rensselaer County.

New Business.
• 2021 Dick Becker Award: At the December meeting there was a nomination from the town chiefs of Tim Bohl. We would like to congratulate Tim and just so that everyone knows he is the First East Greenbush Fire personnel to receive this prestigious award.

Discussion on the Recruitment Campaign, in the past we had little to no enrollment maybe we could set a committee consisting of one member of each department to come up with a plan. Put it out to your departments and further discussion at next month’s meeting.

Member Agency Reports:
• Castleton Ambulance. Chief Alex Bleau introduced himself we welcome him in his new roll and look forward to working with him. Castleton Ambulance has signed a contract with VRS start March 5th Sunday-Friday 0600 – 1800hrs. Fridays will be a 24hr shift. We would like to invite any interested fire departments who could possibly provide a driver to contact Alex for training. Life pac 15 is in service this unit allows our crews to send a 12 lead directly to the Hospital this will provide a higher level of care for our residents.
• Castleton Fire: Breakfast is back!!! First Sunday of the month.
• East Greenbush Fire: Fast team will be available March

• East Schodack Fire: New car 3 Phil, Pizza out, animal rescue March 8th.

• Nassau Fire: : BEFO under way Welcoming Scott Coonrat as an Assistant Chief.

• Nassau Ambulance: Not in attendance
• Schodack Landing Fire: working on our membership accepting 2 new members this month. Friday night in the park begins May 27 1700 – 2000hrs while supplies last.
• Schodack Valley Fire: New truck is being constructed, pizza nights are back on.
• South Schodack Fire: Fish starts the first Friday in March, 34-9 in-service 3000 Gal of water. Discussed the difference between DOT tire standards and NFPA tires on Fire Apparatus should be replaced every 5 years, one of our trucks had a tire failure that could have resulted in injury and or death.
